Community Comes Out To Support Bomb Trained Military K9 Dog's Final Ride

Take a few minutes out of your day to wathc this video - awesome tribute!

What are your thoughts or stroies of K9's on the battlefield?

Sgt. Canvas, who served multiple tours in Iraq, was trained to sniff out up to 70 different bombs. She tried to save her master. "As I was walking towards those stairs I saw her run out of the corner of my eye and give me a signal that there was a bomb there but... I already had my foot on it." But her family to make a hard choice recently. As a result, the small town of Minden came together Friday to support the Marine who earned a Purple Heart in Afghanistan and his beloved K-9 partner. Thank you for your service, Sgt. Canvas and Cpl. Moseley. We're thinking of you during this difficult time.

As a former Military Working Dog Handler this is awesome. To able to be there as a family in and then out of the military. I wish I had the opportunity to do the same for some of the dogs I had. I know it would be hard to say good bye, but good bye is not forever.

Not all who served did so on two legs.

This is such a moving story. Hard not to get emotional.

Thank you, Sgt Canvas, for your service!

Wonderful idea, animals are very intelligent, I live in the country and I get to see them at work. Hunting for food, preparing for survivial in the winter, and staying out of the way of other large creatures.

I saw this in the news yesterday. They didn't state the reason Sgt. Canvas was dispatched. I hope every effort was made to extend his life. My condolences to his family.
