Let's put it this way. We swore to protect the Constitution of the United States, and those people died before us. If anyone does not follow and respect that, I have the right to let them know how I feel about it. You can call me unprofessional or not, but I will not stand aside while people burn our nation's flag and trash our Freedom. Otherwise, you are just another puppet.

In my heart it is hard to respect some people because of the hurt they put on their ( our ) people but the office is wants makes him ( or her) our Commander-N- Chief, respect the Office.

OK but.....
My career, the Vietnam era (I served 32 months there) most dont realize we had 4 Presidents who were draft dodgers-Clinton,Bush ,Trump and yes Biden. They all got deferments for college, but that ran out in 68,so they all used different schemes to avoid draft (and Vietnam ) If you want the story on each, let me know

Far as personal still under any for of current military contract, I personally believe it would still be liable to UCMJ actions and against regulations. Now veterans on the other hand are free, per the 1st amendment to say anything they feel. Personally I'm glad I'm a veteran and no longer active as this current administration has no problem violating individual rights even constitutionally protected one's. They also like Obama have no problem leaving US citizens and military personnel to be slathered and have no understanding or care for No Man Left Behind!

Underneath the uniform is a person with a mind of their own. I'm sure the government would like to control our thoughts too. So, it is OK with me.

active duty or reserve. you cannot publicly express political preferences. much less direct criticism of the commander in chief ... it's that simple

but as a veteran, right now the former presidency clearly was engaged in a long term criminal conspiracy to overturn congress and null the electoral system: as an American, i have a moral duty to oppose that crime against my country.
bush and obama engaged in war crimes. obama prosecuted a 15 year olds defending their home where they lived. and they were tortured while wounded and for years afterwards. officially exonerated by the canadian supreme court, the canadians who tortured that child were ordered to be prosecuted by that court for war crimes, but had already passed away. anyone, president or not, who can torture children after theiy're wounded has no moral compass. Powell included, the entire military campaign in iraq, kurdistan, the gulf, was against international law and they knew it. the CIA in assessing its actions reports 100 non-combatant killed for every suspected combatant it targeted.
how can a citizen not oppose that

I am an American and I have a right to express my opinion just like any other American. I will still do my duty no matter what. Even if it is the one I voted for or not. I don’t care about anyone else’s opinion. My opinion carries one vote just like any other officer or commander. And as an American I have the legal right to express my opinion just like anyone else.

I don't know what the environment is for Senior NCOs and what is perceived and actual as far as professionalism. I do not have a FB or any other, but this, for a social media account. Those who know me, know me, but I would never let my personal opinion on political issues be addressed while amongst subordinates. I would also restrict talking of politics in the ranks during formations, platoon or company events, and would discourage it. If my views did not align with the current POTUS, I would not say anything. Politics now days creates divisiveness, and leaders at any level who allow these discussions in ranks are allowing division amongst their troops. Unfortunately, with all of the info one wants or needs in their hand, that is a difficult task.
As far as Veterans go, when I was a kid, even though I always supported our military, I despised all of the Vietnam War protestors, but the ONLY groups I supported were veterans groups. They did what their country called on them to do, they got shot up, crippled, maimed, watch their friends get killed and brutalized, they earned the right to protest. Veterans no longer have that chain of command, nor do they have a command guidance to follow, so YES, they earned every right to say or do what they feel, within boundaries of the law.
