Recently I've been hearing countless remarks, and seeing posts from soldiers and veterans alike. Down talking our commander in chief. How do you feel about this? Should this be allowed within our ranks? Does freedom of speech really play a part?

He is a communist That is what it is. Just like Russia, ( USSR ) He is destroying the nation in hopes that it will become a communist country. He should pay from his on pocket to maintain the people coming across the boarder against the law, No the tax payers.

As a Person that did wear the Uniform during the Vietnam Conflict, with he CnC that we had JFJ, then LBJ 1963-1967 some of “us” understood that the Leadership, (was Not) our friend. Equipment, Supply’s never seemed to arrive in a Timely Manner! If ever!! The way the Service Person came back to (at Home) was partly (I think) an derived function of the FAILURE of the democratic liberal Leadership in Power in D.C, the Pentagon and the lazy protesters of America! Was the SAME LEADERSHIP that LEFT 100’s of POW’S and others Behind! Much like the Americans LEFT BEHIND from THIS ADMINISTRATION! Then we also had the likes of Sec State Robert McMaria (sp) who cam out and said (to the effect) thet WE KNEW that WE SWNT AMERICANS OVER THER AS CANNON FRODER! Thank you DEMOCRATS! But, for the most part none of US said crap when we were Serving. We SERVED! The likes of the People Now John Kerry, the person who when still wearing the Uniform, threw his “metal’s” awarded for so called wound’s received in country! Then also went alongside Jane Fonda went to the Paris peace (talks) and CALLED ALL SERVICEMEN MURDERS, KILLERS OF WOMAN AND CHILD! Thank you JOHN! Then “John McCain” the decorated POW who. For Years swore that ALL AMERICANS THAT HAD BEEN “POW’S” had Been brought Back or Accounted for! Ask any one that SERVED OVER THERE IF THAT WAS TRUE! May he Burn in the HELL he left his fellow POW’S! Again, WE Never said Crap about the (leadership) during our time in Service! Then the Way the Pentagon Leadership Pulled Everyone out much like JOE!

You refer to criticizing our President as "Down talking," which may not be justified, depending on the circumstances and gravity of the decisions being made. In our present day Armed Forces, we're seeing military readiness being compromised as a result of "leaders" at the highest echelons embracing a woke, politically-correct ideology that emphasizes diversity, equity and inclusion instead of the essentials of teamwork in warfighting. I'm putting the blame squarely where it belongs-- on the Commander-in-Chief!

Well our troops are out of Afghanistan and that's a plus. Biden is not trying to devide this country. He increased emplyeement and lowest unemployment to record lows and if the politicians, under Trump, had not lowered the bank liquidity requirements after the 2008 bank failure, these current bank failures would not be happening and a possible recession, if happening, can be blamed on them, notBisen.

My take is that if you are on active duty you should not make any comments, positive or negative, about anyone in your chain of command, including the POTUS. There may be an exception if you are given an illegal order. e.g. the Chief of Staff has a duty to the country to speak up or decline to obey an illegal order from the POTUS, An example occured during the last days in office of our previous President.

On the other hand, unless a member of the reserve components is on ADT or otherwise wearing the uniform they can say anything they care to in their civilian capacity. They should not sign their comments with their military affiliation or rank. AKAIK, the Hatch act, which prohibits political activity by federal government employees, has never been applied to memeber of the NG or Reserves.

For veterans or retired members you have full 1st Amendment rights to say anything you please.

While in uniform I would never talk publicly about any part of the chain of command. I served under several Presidents, starting with Reagan. I was not happy with all of the elections after that, but would never criticize publicly. If the availability of social media has changed something, take command and instill some discipline. How are we to rely on a military that has zero respect or control?

I can accept constructive criticism but not bashing. SHow the same respect you would want to be shown. If you are in uniform I expect you to bite your tongue and show the respect that the office/position deserves.

Shouldn’t be happening openly on social media. Regardless of a SM’s personal feelings about the man he’s the Commander in Chief until his term of service ends. It’s been a while since I was in but if I recall correctly there’s an article in the UCMJ that covers this.

If shoe fits wear it. Depending on my time in... I probably would leave the service rather serve someone I didn't respect.
