Freedom of speech and freedom in it's entirety is what we defend or defended during our tenure. I don't feel bashing is called for however calling an idiot an idiot and expressing ones opinion of someone regardless of their status or position is exactly what we served for. Honestly this current President is not worthy of his position. A couple I served under were total morons as well but I did my duty and kept my mouth shut. Since my duty title is Mister I'll say what I damn well please. Don't like it? Don't listen......

In uniform be very careful or just shut up. In uniform around civilians could be the kiss of death. Name calling deserves a bust in rank because it makes you sound like every democrat that has called every republican president every name in the book and if you have a clue they don’t know the meaning because that party has done it from the dawn of time. To have a carefully thought out argument about a policy with references and examples is just fine. That’s how this republic that uses democracy as a tool should work. The gleefully uninformed in the government bureaucracy is trashing this country. Why did democrats want to tear down the embarrassing statues of racist democrats that the democrats put up? Why do the new dealers want to get rid of ‘cockpit’ in airplanes? Because they don’t know the coxswain steered the ship from the pit where the wheel was. So there. My two cents, a history and current events lesson and an example on how to not get bar-b-qued by a thin skinned idiot. Good luck. Man have I have some stories. Just like Patton I once had to make a command apology but it didn’t make my record and got me a bunch of dates because most everyone thought the same but were afraid to say so. Be careful, be very careful, respectful and you damn well better be right.

I support the truth ack-up by facts. No matter who is speaking.
However you look at any situation in the USA, schools, military readiness, taxes. international respect/fear we are much worse off today than we have ever been.
We are weak and vulneable on all fronts and worse yet from within.

David, our taxes today are about as low as they have ever been. The tax cuts by Reagan, Bush and Trump have resulted in huge deficits. They have not grown the economy. The more you make, the more opportunities there are to avoid taxes. As for international respect, Biden has realigned the US with the free world. Maybe you are referring to Russia and China? Biden's ability to bring the NATO countries together in support of Ukraine was exceptional. The dictators are not our allies so sucking up to them is not in our best interests. Military readiness seems pretty solid considering we are arming Ukraine and Israel with very sophisticated weapons. Certainly, recruiting is suffering. But why join the military when there are many good paying jobs available everywhere?
Our vulnerability is going to be shown in the next few years as Don Trump takes over the country. He has followed Victor Orban's play book on how to appoint unqualified but extremely loyal people to control every part of the government. They will enact rules that give Don complete control. The Senate and Congress will abdicate their responsibilities as will SCOTUS. Get ready for a nationalist, theocratic dictator.

If one is talking about Barack Obama and Joseph Biden, I have accused both of them of treason and espionage against the United States. Barack Obama usurped the Presidency, by fraud, during time of war. Both Biden and Pelosi were complicit. That makes them all subject to court-martial as spies and traitors under 10USC (UCMJ 903.103-Spies). There was at least one brave soldier who questioned Obama's bona-fides as President. If one usurps the office one is by law NOT the actual President. Read my book "Imposters in the Oval Office"

We have Freedom of Speech so that we may safely criticize the government without fear of prosecution or persecution. When we sign our names on the dotted line we do not give up our Constitutional tights, however, we accept certain limitations..
Active duty and/or in uniform need to keep their opinions to themselves when in public. Say whatever you want when among friends and family. I suppose speaking in public, in civvies, might be ok on active duty if you do not identify yourself by rank or branch of service, but that's iffy.
Vets can say whatever they want, whenever. As a vet, I prefer they speak in socially acceptable language when speaking in public to spare the rest of us embarrassment.
I hope it goes without saying that sharing classified information with people not appropriately cleared is never Ok.

I have problems with name calling and disrespectful behavior but I have no problem with criticizing policy and/or behavior or decisions that are a detriment to us and our country. We don’t have a military that blindly follows orders without a moral compass. I was just following orders doesn’t cut it today anymore than for the German guards at Auschwitz.

Since I no longer know the rules of conduct in today's military, I cannot state anything about about making comments against the stitting POTUS. I can state that whomever they are, they are still your CIC and can tell you to remember that line in your Oath of Enlistment/Commision that goes "I will obey the orders of the President of the United State..." And well, if you don't, there is a variety of UCMJ avtions that might be pursued.
However, as a veteran (Yes, I am one as well as both of my brothers), we have a right to voice whatever our opinions are. After all, one of the rights we protected is the First Amendment; Freedom of Speech. Having served does not remove any of our legal rights unless of course, we should commit an act against the United States or any of it's citizens.
If we are a good citizen, we will know that others have opinions different from our own and exercise constraint even when we disagree.

Look back in history and you'll find several examples of military criticizing Presidents from both parties. John Kerry comes quickly to mind tossing his medals over the White House fence during the Vietnam War. Douglas MacArthur had his disagreements with Harry Truman. Dig and ye shall find. How do I personally feel about it? The current administration and president have forced covid vaccinations on our military or discharged them. And still refuse to totally change their position even though it's coming out that we been had by self-promoters. The military's mission is not for cultural experiments but is a fighting force. Our military budget does not even keep up with inflation with this administration. And if you're in the military having tough times paying bills, you're told to apply for an EBT card. A joke. But, a sad one. How can one not criticize a president and administration that are foolhardy? And never forget Afghanistan. But, active duty personnel need to be careful but veterans have every right to criticize Biden or any other president with such a record like Biden's towards the military. Biden is a perfect example of "The Peter Principle" along with his hand-picked generals and admirals. We'll pay dearly in years to come for not criticizing when we should have.

That was proven untrue. Strongly suggest you listen, read and watch a variety of sources rather than one or two.
