Recently I've been hearing countless remarks, and seeing posts from soldiers and veterans alike. Down talking our commander in chief. How do you feel about this? Should this be allowed within our ranks? Does freedom of speech really play a part?

1st of all, unless you're here just for the increase of points SPC Buck, realize that everyone wont always agree or like what you say-but ME, I'd say it anyway ESPECIALLY if it matters to you.

2nd, the Commander in Chief is who he is and I wonder if those same individuals do the same to their current leadership when its back is turned. With our current POTUS, I've seen and heard some shady mess coming from all sides, civis and Soldiers, and I understand to each his own, but when the moments arise where the Soldiers that do this create a hatred or frenzy, then I have to intervene. I wont like everything and definitely don't understand everything POTUS saids or does and may voice my tactful opinion on it, but I will not create a division that gets us nowhere. Plus, I laugh at everyone still giving the current POTUS grief and remind them, Its his 2nd term, get over it already.

If I remember back in my service years, I thought it was illegal for an officer to degrade the President & those appointed above him especially in from of the enlisted? It was a law dating back to the Revolution. The other issue that does surface about once a decade is the oath we all take. Recently I think what we only speculated has come true. Where do service members stand when following the Constitution & following the President come into conflict? This question comes up time & again & it is never answered. Again going back to my older knowledge & experience, Obama would not have been tolerated for his behavior years ago. He would have been deemed communist & removed & possibly imprisoned. Those years are long gone though. I don't think there will be a solid answer to this. If complaining at all is silenced, people will just plot behind closed doors. That's worse in my book.

what has President Obama done that has hurt the Military one bit. Nobody said anything about President Bush sending our troops to war under false circumstances.

Down talking the President as a service member is messy and unprofessional. It not only makes the individual look bad but all of us as service members. Not only that family businesss should stay in the family. With that being said, given that we are a military family, we should not dirty out our laundry. That applies to our units business as well.

I'd enforce courtesy- he should be referred to by his proper title, name, etc. Frankly, it makes it difficult for me to take criticism of him seriously when posters are coming up with stupid derogatory names. "Obozo" is not even remotely clever or funny. Freedom of speech...... that's up to the owners of this site. They are quite free to turn it into either an Obama lovefest or an "Obozo" bashing forum. It is their property to do with as they wish. I suspect that going too far in either direction could have an adverse effect on the intended purpose of this site as a networking tool- presumably with the goal of expanding professional opportunities.

SGT Whitenton that philosophy should be applied to Democrats otherwise it is disingenuous and more of a mockery. President Bush was called a War Criminal and monkey and had shoes thrown at him. Not one renunciation here. If anything a lot of equivocating.

How about Obama Bin Lyin? Is that an acceptable phrase? It is most certainly true. It is still questionable whether or not he is legally the President, as Barry Soetoro held an Indonesian passport, and the US does not have a dual citizenship agreement with Indonesia. In order to have a passport, he needed to be a citizen, in order to be a citizen of Indonesia, he was legally required to renounce his US Citizenship. All Birther comments aside, these are facts, and they cannot be ignored.

Add to that the fact that he has a Social Security number from a state he never lived in.

It is in poor taste and not something a military veteran should do publicly. You are entitled to your opinion - but as they used to say - "Everyone has an opinion.....and they ALL stink!!!"

Vote the way you want. While on active duty or in uniform, not appropriate to publicly criticize the President.

Easy answer. biden Is a senile, babbling idiot! He's a figure head who's not known what's going on for the past 4 plus years. His policies and orders have gotten our brothers and sisters killed and the world is laughing at us! Blood shed will come to our own soil soon by way of war of the demoncrats want it. Whether the war be between Americans or an invasion, war is coming to our land and we can't stop it! The divide in us is too great to heal until blood is shed. Be ready, be vigilant and remember your oath! That said, free speech is a Constitutional 1st amendment guarantee!

Respect the office, not the man. He has nothing but contempt for you and will not support you beyond lip service and diversity training

To the wife and non military friends and family while active or reserve ( including Guard ) sure why not . To other military personnel and junior troops NO it's not OK . As for After retirement or end of service . Say what you want to whom ever you please . While in service there is and should be a limit on free speech to avoid undue influence by seniors and command . After you are no longer in service and yes that includes retired you are no longer under such an obligation or limitation .

I am watching the country I swore to defend being dragged to hell by an incompetent, morally bankrupt, and possibly illegally installed (2000 Mules) Commander Cheif.

I am a veteran, and I will not be quiet because the military leadership has been purged of patriots and replaced by Traitors like Milley, who openly said he would lend aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States.
