Recently I've been hearing countless remarks, and seeing posts from soldiers and veterans alike. Down talking our commander in chief. How do you feel about this? Should this be allowed within our ranks? Does freedom of speech really play a part?

I was in when Clinton was in - He was a traitor during the Nam War. He should not have been allowed to run. Officers were forbidden from saying anything derogatory. Obama was not born in the US, the Manchurian Candidate, he should not have run either, he does not count. Joe Biden flat out stole the 2020 election with the help of many I won't mention. Not everyone likes every President. If they are elected properly and legally, they can be respected at the same time faults can be brought to light, call it constructive criticism.

Criticizing our commander in chief in public should not be allowed. If performed we should have consequences. I realize some of our leaders have said and done things that are highly questionable.

CPO Arthur Weinberger, Biden or any other commander in chief is no better than the rest of us. He isn't a king although he may think so.I respect or dispespect the individual, not the rank. There are a lot of officers and NCO's who deserve no respect and it is my right as a vet and civilian to point out these faults. I am no longer in the military and don't have to put up with military reg's. I will critize anyone that I feel like and they have the same right to critize me. The current commander in chief is a crooked, senile, moron and I have no respect for him or his ill gotten office. The freedom of speech gives me that right.

A veteran has every right to criticize this moron. Otherwise why did we fight? Active duty personal is a different story. So if you don’t like me criticizing this communist in chief then kicked me off of your site!

I think it should be avoided but if someone wants to run their mouths about any past or current President they have to be able to take the heat. We all know there are people in the military as in the private sector that have the power to make others miserable if they don’t like what someone says at work.

My opinion is he was elected we deal with it good or bad. As to the question, you have the right to free speech but as a member of the military you give away some of those rights as was posted above.

Absolutely! The current President is borderline senile and not capable of making a coherent presentation. He has people behind the scenes that are telling him what to say in public and he publicly admits it. Yes, the First Amendment is in play. Current Active Duty personnel should be respectful but cognizant of the possible repercussions of their statements.

TSgt James Herslebs, You sarge, are absolutely right. Civilians and vets have the right to critize anyone, but while still in the military you might have to bite your tongue, but after you are no longer in, you have the right to and should express your opinions.

The President is the Commander in Chief. In the chain of command you can't go any higher. If you wouldn't openly criticize your own commanding officer - and you shouldn't - you should extend that same respect to the President. Think of it as respecting the position and not the person, if that helps.
