How do you feel about veterans or Soldiers criticizing our President?

Our “leaders” lied to us about Vietnam and Iraq. The soldiers spill the blood and the leaders sit in air conditioned offices. Soldiers die and leaders say sorry about that. 20 years in Afghanistan and then the rug was pulled beneath soldiers feet. We fled Vietnam and Afghanistan. So should soldiers have an opinion? Damn right they should. They pay the bills while politicians talk crap!

I risked my life for that constitutional right.

Current Soldiers ought not to comment on politics, politicians, or policy, due to the risk of being associated with the uniform even while on leave. Honorably discharged Veterans have earned the absolute right to hold and share any damned opinion they want to hold. Dishonorably discharged inductees ought to keep their mouths shut. Civilians don't follow orders anyway.

I've known people from E-4 up to CIC who I was required to respect their rank, but the person was a complete turd. Getting promoted to the level of ineffectual has been common in the military since forever; someone who is fairly useless gets promoted until the mission can be accomplished with or without them.

Whether I am Active Duty or Civilian doesn't change the truth of who people are, it only changes my ability to voice that truth. Pretty much every politician in the last 40-something years has been a useless bag of skin who wanted nothing more than to increase their own personal wealth. The figurehead in the Oval Office, (biden), is no different, just look at his lifelong public record.

I believe only our sitting President, anyone in past should stay in the past, He is the Commander In Chief, Total respect is due him for his position. Any name calling, bashing is a no-go, art 15 is due.

Be polite, be respectful, and exercise a degree of tact, but most importantly be objective, honest, and direct. We all took an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution from ALL enemies foreign and domestic. The 1st Amendment to that sacred document, The United States Constitution, enumerates our God given right to speak our opinions and have our voices heard.

I think soldiers should be soldiers and leave the political noise to the political pundits.

My only issues is doing it at work or in uniform.

Current service members should not be criticizing the president in a public forum. Depending on what is said or written it could be a possible UCMJ violation. Veterans can exercise their freedom of speech. Being able to disagree with the President or anyone is a constitutional right. It should be done in a respectful way, but social media has made it easy for anonymous people to say anything without consequences.
