Recently I've been hearing countless remarks, and seeing posts from soldiers and veterans alike. Down talking our commander in chief. How do you feel about this? Should this be allowed within our ranks? Does freedom of speech really play a part?<br><br>

No problem with criticizing. As long as it has some merit as a legitimate critique, debatable issue, objective argument, etc etc etc

Here's is the problem with this question. The military could care less what you think. Personally, the ranks do command climate surveys about their immediate leadership. The ranks do not have a say who their commander in chief is. As far as veterans go. They have done their time and they have earned the right to say whatever they want as citizens.

If still on active duty I would not publicly criticize the President or the administration. As a veteran and retiree I am free to say what I want about the President or anyone in the administration. I earned that right!!

When I was in uniform I was completely non-political. My belief is that then becomes a conflict of interest to vote or have an opinion concerning the politics and policies of the duly elected officials. I see both active duty and past service members commenting on policies and some of them bad mouthing the elected officials both in their official and personal life. To me this should never be done, if you do not have constructive criticism don't open your trap if all you can do is talk poorly of someone (often based on something you read on the internet or that someone else heard from someone else), DON'T.
Those that served however have more right than those who have not served to express their opinions on the job our leadership. NOT mudslinging, leave that to the politicians.

<p>Now I see why I don't see many people of color on these pages, it seems that the given question about the President brought forth the real internal feelings from some of these so call soldiers. I see that the majority of participants are little more than modern hate mongers with run of the mill klan type views, looking and waiting for a forum to spew hatred. (The lies, the name calling) are these examples of true red blooded Americans or a bunch of radicals hiding behind uniforms? I often wonder, if you all think as you do. why are you all even in the military? You all know that you are fighting for the same Government that you hate. Maybe you all want to get some cheap training so you can defend yourself against the upcoming great minority uprising? Com'on Really!? (LOL)! Let the true and the real American soldiers with real American pride and love for the American way of life, serve our country. SGT D C, I am not sure where you come up with Republicans are trying to take food out of children's mouths, it is not Republicans who have had control over inner cities for the past 50 years that has seen the disintegration of the poor family unit, that allows the gang activity that kills so many, that allows the squalor that so many live in, and not all of them are black, many are poor whites and hispanics as well. And the Democrats own that, they are the ones who are elected to those city offices and promise the world but deliver hopelessness while pointing fingers at others who have no input into what goes on there.

Yeah, the Republicans have been so obstructionist like the time last year when they (in the House) compromised and submitted THREE different budgets to the Senate but the Senate (mostly the Democrats) rejected all three. The latter two proposals weren't even LOOKED AT by the Senate. So who's the obstructionists again?

Bottom line up front as veterans the oath we swore to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic never expires. I will be honest, I hate Obama because he hate America, our constitution, (he refered to it as that pesky document) and what America stands for. He has no respect for the Armed Forces and I do not want to go down in history as being part of the generation that allowed a sitting president to destroy this country based on his muslim beliefs and ideology.....not on my watch..try explaining this to your kids and their children..
