Depends on what branch you're going into. I think only the air force has any military treatment facilities in England. I don't know if the air force gives you a guaranteed pick of duty stations like the Army does, but your chance of getting both the MOS you want and your choice of duty station on first enlistment in any branch are pretty slim.

I spent 3 years at RAF Feltwell starting in 1999. I loved every minute being in the Country. The assignment itself, not so much but that is another story for another day. Best advice I can offer if you do end up in the UK is to get out and explore. Experience everything you can (within reason) of the culture and learn to appreciate the differences. Given the opportunity, I would go back for an extended visit in a heartbeat!
* ONE BIT OF WARNING * You may speak a similar form of English but you do NOT speak the same language! Learn the local slang, the subtle meanings, and what common phrases you may be used to that could be considered terrible insults in British culture and vice versa.

I spent 9 years there, great place and people. Just remember that just because we have a common tongue, doesn't mean that all things are the same. Enjoy the UK and embrace the differences.
