SGT Carl Blas It's worn the same in ASUs, the color of the uniform is just different and when the are in the new Army Greens (I think that is what they are calling them) it'll be worn the same on them also.

You know I had a smart ass comment but then I remembered that back in the day there was only one copy of the AR670-1 available and the 1SG had it and you couldn't take it from his office and copying it was not an option. You "younger" folks have so many methods of researching regulations online that it makes my head spin. From my experience I highly recommend spending some time researching the uniform regulations and now a PAM and become a subject matter expert as it will serve you well going through the ranks. It helped me for many years and will now help my son as he goes up through the ranks.

The old-school way is too secure it using the button on the shoulder board.
What I did was sew a small clear button under the shoulder board so that the fourragere would not tug at the button and make it look jacked up.
Check out AR 670-1 para 29-60 for guidance.

SPC (Join to see) Unbutton the left shoulder loop on the jacket. Attach the loop that is at the end of the fourragere over the button the run the fouragere under the sleeve and attach the second loop over the button. Button the shoulder loop. I advise shining the tip of the fouragerre, especially if you are going to a board. THe tip looks a ton better shinny than not.
P.S. you shoud have asked your NCOs how to do this not a bunch of people that you don't know.

as a SPC You should be able to find this information out, not just for you but your soldiers too. I’m sure your first line has been to a ball or two and should know their way around a set of ASU’s.
