I know there is a discussion already on how you prepare yourself for the range, this question is about how you get your range ready to go. How many people do you have in your DA Form 1687 to request and receive Ammo? What's your average of rounds requested per soldier? What is that thing that maybe not everybody adds in the OPORD but you always put it there? Since I'm in a MI Unit, things runs a little different here. For example, we don't have a MAL, which would do things a little easier. How many CLS certified do you have? I want to learn how you run things and learn from other practices that could be better than how we are doing things here.

Running a Rifle Qual or Zero Range: Secrets? Best Practices? Lessons Learned? | RallyPoint

Having lead and participated in several AARs, usually it isn't until conclusion of a range operation that many insightful comments come out....that a good leader will take note of and apply to future operations. What specific things have you done and/or learned while you were tasked with running a rifle...

I remember several times marching all the way across post , get to the range, set for hours doing pull it out your back side classes, then somewhere in the mid after noon marching back across post because there was no ammo issued or authorized for our unit to use, very poor coordination by the leaders IMO, time wasted that could have been better used, but it was said that it was done deliberately to give the CO points with the BNCDR because we were gone all day doing ARMY TRAINING...
