You swore to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States. No where in the oath of enlistment is there a clause that you pick and choose who, where, when or why you fight. You do as ordered.
When the terrorists hit the towers there were a few N.G. troops who wanted to refuse to do battle because, in their own words, I didn't sign up for this. I quoted the N.G. troops because I didn't read anything from the R.A's.
You follow the orders of the POTUS. Period.

I get that some might say he should not publicly say that he does not want to fight this fight, and I agree.
I will also say that this generation of soldiers has been thrust into more wars than before. There were the never ending wars, the longest in U.S. history. After numerous deployments, that were pointless to me, I decided to find a way out. It is not easy to get out when you want to, there is a process, so to those who say for this soldier to get out, I say do you remember when you served, because you clearly don't. How many wars does this generation have to fight before we realize there are only so many battles we should be fighting.
I know there will be ridiculous comments due to my beliefs and I really don't care. But, with that being said, this is a fight I would much rather partake in as opposed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

You don't get a vote. When you signed the dotted line to defend the US you signed away your right to vote on it.

I Have To Make But To Make One Comment About That Person And His Sign,
Why Are You The Only Guy..(The Word "MAN" Is Intentionally Voided) Whom Thought Joining Our Military Would Be A Cake-Walk"?...
At Present I Can Only Hope The Others, In Your Unit, Will Kick Your Ass & The Military Will Follow Their Lead.

It looks like a "Screaming Eagle" patch on his right arm, but having read the comment I think it is probably a whining or whimpering eagle.

First, he should have requested release from active duty, then removed his uniform and parade his sign in front of HQ if he feels that strongly about it. I am a VN vet and respect Ali to this day for his sacrifice, even though I disagreed with him.

You are a soldier that takes orders, if your order is to fight this fight, you will do it. If not, forfeit your pay and get dishonorably discharged and go home to be a drain on society. If Russia invaded the U.S., you would hope that Ukraine would help us out, and I guarantee that they would. Your hiding your face because you know you will get in trouble for saying that.

If it’s active duty military personnel, that’s not his call to make.
When we take our oath, we pretty much hand over our opinions and sign on the obey all lawful orders.
Obviously this person needs to be reminded.

Fortunately, he doesn't cartilage in the decision process regarding who, where and/or when to fight. As a Cold War veteran I subscribe to the old adage "I'd rather fight them over there than over here". Happy to trade places with this Coward.
