If this person is truly in the Army, he should seriously consider a new occupation. The Army will send you wherever they think you are necessary and if you run away before a deployment, they will come find you (if you remain in the US). You definitely won't like where you will end up. If you can't live up to the oath you took entering the Army, get out. I agree with many of the other respondents that you are a coward hiding behind a sign.

I agree with the first 4 lines. BUT, the military is not a democracy. It’s a dictatorship. You do what you’re told (lawful orders of course). If you refuse? Dishonorable Discharge RE-4

I’m very disappointed on several different levels. First the picture you showed us. He’s in uniform, and that’s a political statement which I think is against regulations, but certainly is against common courtesy, and protocol.
We start with a knowledge meant that all wars is bad. But beyond that, I do not agree with him. Ukraine is part of this planet, and therefore is part of my backyard.. if you think Russia was right, then you should encourage the US to help them. If you think the Russians were wrong, then you should encourage the United States to help Ukraine and get a Russia to withdraw..
The term “ domino theory” it’s not very popular. If Ukraine falls. Then I predict other countries will fall after it, and Russia war extend its power as far as it can.

This is sad, I agree that political statements needs to be made out of uniform. He shows there is a divide within the ranks. Heartbreaking.
Secondly we all took the oath. I don’t believe in politicians as I feel all of them are only in positions to have power not to take care of “ The People “. However, when fighting in the Middle East I felt that we were there not to free the people but to have the oil, I still served with honor and distinction because I swore that I would.

This is no worse than General Mark Milley parading down the street with Donald Trump in full uniform in a political statement and standing in front of a church being photographed with Trump holding a bible. That is the example leadership set.

Almost certainly a fake uniform. Or an ex-soldier trying to cash in his leftover Army suit for political points, which amounts to the same thing.

The current Ukraine/Russia mess started in 2022. That uniform-- ACUs-- began phase-out in 2015 (I lost mine in 2016 and never looked back), and they ceased authorization as a duty uniform in September 2019. Longer ago than my entire enlistment, from E-1 to E-4 to ROTC.

There's a slim chance that SPC Anonymous here was referring to the 2014 dust-up when Putin & Co. annexed Crimea, and somebody dug up the old picture to recycle, but even if so, he's wrong for making political statements in his uniform and craven for hiding behind his sign. If he's still serving, he's likely an NCO by now. And if he posted this himself as an old-but-still-current meme comment, he's <i>still</i> hiding behind the sign to break the rules on political statements. However valid his position is, as stated, is no longer the issue: he <i>may not</i> use his uniform to endorse it, and he <i>may not</i> go AWOL if that's where his unit deploys to.
