How likely is it that I can get an IT job after the Army if I were to first become a Warrant Officer pilot before getting out?

I'm thinking about becoming a WO pilot but I'm getting a degree in Information Technology/network routing and switching? What is the likelihood of achieving that? How would that work out?

Depending on your current rank go Army Reserve or National Guard and reclassify as a 255A, 255N or go cyber as a 170A

So if I was a 153A WO, I could reclass to another WO MOS, no matter if I'm active, reserve or national guard?

No guarantees and only up to the CW2 CW3 rank. That said I question what you like to do for your career? If iT is your long term goal then just move ahead. If flying is what you want then do that first and see how things shape out after flight school etc. to be planning to switch proponents so early in your Warrant Officer goals is something I don’t recommend

SPC Berkley, I am in the same boat as you. Currently I am a 68E (Dental Spec) but have my BS and MS in Information Technology. If you have a strong background in IT and obtain certifications such as Security+, Network+, A+ ect then you may have a chance. However, in my opinion you must have more than just education to land an IT job, experience is key. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

SPC (Join to see) - It may not be enough to want an IT job. You'll want to know what things you'd want to do specifically in the IT world - systems admin, netadmin, database, web hosting, hardware, cybersecurity (Sec+ is the prereq for entry level), etc..
If you have more questions about this, you can ask others here who've blazed the trails already.

SPC (Join to see) - I recommend talking with civilians on base with such positions and trying to find projects (NPO, volunteer, etc.) where you can get hands-on experience to add to your resume. Once you get the cert(s), ensure you do all possible ways to gain CEU's including writing about the field on reputable platforms.

Your current MOS is not necessarily an indicator of what you will do when you get out. Sure it's "resume experience" but nothing is absolute. My MOS was Combat Intelligence Analyst. My field is unrelated.
If you look at former Infantry, they progress into "Operations" which is a catchall, and often management.
So all that said, build the resume you need for the job you want. But have fun while doing it.
