How likely will an Army Reserve unit with a vacancy process a Gray Area Retiree to fill that position? What is the process?

I suggest you work with only one Army Reserve Career Counselor. It's not added value to have multiple counselors working your packet because only one of them will receive credit for your transfer. Do not be fooled that one can work your packet faster than the other.

MSG Gould, you are correct. Never the intent as I was trying to collect info and both replied that they could help. I will get back to them offline but want to thank all for their help so far.

Contact local retention NCO. They have the paperwork to do it. I have been told that the gaining commander does not even need to know until a soldier shows up on a TPU to TPU move. Yes, its new in the last year or so.
Retired reserve to TPU should be similar. If the slot is there and you meet retention standards go for it.

Thanks. I never heard a thing back from anyone trying to find out info for me. Figured it would end up this way.
