How long after submitting a pay inquiry does it take for DFAS to deposit back pay?

I have been entitled to the with dependent rate BAH for the last 16 months since my son was born, but have only been receiving the without dependent (as I was pregnant). This is pay I am owed. I was just wondering if after this form makes it to finance, and all the paperwork on my side is good, how long does it normally take for me to get my money back? TIA

If you submitted the BAH verification form and enrolled your child in DEERS then you should involve your COC and IG

I had a pay problem on active duty. I did not go through S1, I just went straight to finance. The six month delay I dealt with was the people in finance not doing their job with the pay inquiries and supporting documents I dropped off every month for six months.
When I finally called DFAS, the guy had my problem fixed in 15 minutes and showed up on the next LES.
So the answer is it takes 15 minutes when someone does their job.

Most finance issues are settled within about a month. That's assuming everything on your side is good and there are no other factors such as you being married to another service member.

If it's been more then 2 weeks, then your s1 is not doing its job. If I was you, I would go to DMPO and go straight to the source. Also, I would call dfas to see if it's even been submitted to them, and if so, then your just waiting on them.

Did you wait 16 months to submit or did you submit immediately. If you waited, one maybe two pay periods. If you submitted immediately and did not check until now shame on you, contact the 1SG immediately for support. Thank you for your service.

I submitted everything to my previous S1. I have since moved units and just haven’t checked bc it was going straight to housing. When I tried to move houses they told me that I had been getting the without dependent rate still. I guess my previous S1 never submitted it to finance.

You are in housing? If you are in government provided quarters you will receive no money. The reason your LES does not portray any BAH is because you have quarters and the government retains BAH. Your housing manager would not know what you are authorized as they are paid by the government. If I MOs-read you and you are not in government provided housing you need to see your PAC immediately. Otherwise there is no issue. SPC (Join to see)
