Does anyone know how long it takes for the QMP board to notify Soldiers of their results? Also what is the percentage of Soldiers they decide to retain? Board meet in February.

NCOs selected for QMP will be notified around the same time the list comes out for those selected for promotion. If selected for QMP you are supposed to be notified by the first GO in your chain of command but it is usually delegated to your battalion commander, the GO will send a memorandum.

There really is no percentage retained per say. You are either selected for promotion, selected for QMP, or not selected for either and live to compete next year.

I emailed one of the POCs listed on the MILPER Message, and he told me the statistics from last years board was that 81% were denied continued service, and only 19% were retained. Additionally, I just asked him yesterday about results, and he told me they should start sending individual notification memos out around the first week or 2 of April.

The board was help 14 July for QMP if you received notification from your Battalion S-1 or commander. I was selected but have still not heard any final decision from the formal board.

Will you get notified if you do not get selected for QMP or only if they select you for QMP?? Thanks.

As far as retention; it all depends on the strength of the NCOs packet.

1st Air Cavalry BDE (1ACB) at Fort Hood Texas was a unit that received many QMP notification letters. This was from 2012. The BDE even had the highest attrition rate of CPT's from the RIF board in 2014.

I was in the unit from 2010 to 2015 (1st Air Cavalry Brigade -1ACB). The Air Cav BDE had many depressed Soldiers who were suicidal during that time period due to the toxic leadership from the brigade command team.

We had just returned back to Fort Hood (June 2012) and finished a year long deployment from Afghanistan and the BDE command team led by COL John Novalis changed over. COL Cory Mindenhall and CSM Chris Amagliani took over and morale in the BDE plummeted! Mindenhall and Amagliani were directed by FORSCOM to get rid of Soldiers for minor offenses such as missing a medical appointment. The Army was downsizing and commanders and CSM's were told to chapter people out for the smallest of reasons. The BDE command team gave no leniency: You missed several formations - gone! You failed one PT test - Gone! Several speeding tickets on post - Gone! An Officer misses two meetings - Letter of reprimand (career killer) - Gone!

Our BDE Chaplain, MAJ Shabazz, had MANY late nights with depressed Soldiers, NCO's, and Officers due to the horrible command team influence of COL Mindenhall and CSM Amagliani.

I am not sure but how HRC is going about things like this is pretty low. I know people in situations like this and what is going on just makes me sick. It is plain gutless.

I just saw this: http://www.armyreenlistment.com/imrepr.html

I guess you will see on your ERB before someone has the guts to notify you.

I hear a rumor that notifications went out to MACOM's today. I would expect indivduals would be reciving their notifications very shortly.

This was for the January board. I would assume that responses would be sent for this current board towards October.

The Cutoff for the first board this year was January 28th. The results were sent to the MACOMs the end of April. It sucks, but since the Army won't just publish a list of people who get the boot it takes a little more time. Hopefully your news is good, but not knowing either way is a killer. Stay strong, and keep your head up. I recommend talking to someone who can help you figure out how to emotionally deal with the situation. It helped me.
