CPT Porter hit on the key, critical elements. Use my career as a cautionary tale: get your professional military schooling done sooner, rather than later. Make your mark as a company grade officer and make a positive impact on your platoons and companies. Military life can be dramatically different as an active Reservist. The life balance between military, civilian career and family life can be hard to juggle. As soon as you become eligible for your next school, start campaigning hard for it by doing your very best in your current assignment. I wish you young officers all the very best!

I really don't mean to sound holier than thou here, but do mean to give advice a wise mentor gave me once that I found very useful: don't worry about your career. Make sure your paperwork is in order and up to date, other than that concentrate on the mission, then troop welfare, then on improving yourself and living a balanced life. The career will follow.
Enjoy your time as Bull Lieutenant.
