How long is the tech school for 2A3X3 and how long total would I be gone away from my family?

I’m thinking about joining the reserves as a 2A3X3 at Seymour Johnson for either F-16s or 15s (i don’t remember) How long is the tech school and how long total would I be gone away from my family? I have 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience already. And my last question is do the reserves even do maintenance? Or is just a drill party every weekend?

Even with 5 1/2 years of aviation experience I was disqualified because of my hearing. I am still going to Seymour Johnson but as an auto mech. Hopefully once I get my foot in the door I can talk to someone and see if I can get some kind of waiver. Who knows. I’ll be there first weekend in January

I am waiting on a waiver to be approved by the 414th for 2A354B before I can go to MEPS. Hopefully it all works out. How long did the process take for you to get back in?

It’s 15s at Seymour A1C Joal’s numbers seem right I can’t remember exact amounts but I’m in the 334th next door to the 333rd if you are truly interested shoot me a fb message and we can meet up I’ll get you on base and take you to meet the guys over there. Giving you a little better feel for the job and what to expect.

67 academic days and 23 hands on training give or take a few days. For f15s. F16 is around there too, not sure if they have hands on training
