I know that finding outstanding Instructors may be sometimes a difficult task...but with the norm being around 2 years, there are times where an Instructor may be at a school for 5-6 years because of their strength as an Instructor.

What are your thoughts?

Three years is what our BDE says we must stay for. I say two years max because three years is too long to be away from the operational force. Three years is the max though and our branch is tracking that.

One to two years max. Three years is entirely too much time.

We were just told that we are doing a minimum of 4 years and "don't even think about contacting Branch before then".

About 3 years. Things change too much out in the "Fleet" to be in the "Schoolhouse" any longer than that.

You need to constantly swap people from one segment to the other so knowledge is cross pollinating. You don't want either side to get stagnant.

I am currently serving as an instructor and in the BDE I am in it is a max of three years. After that it is back to the operational force. From my perspective I would only stay for three years and that would be it. I am a Forcecom Soldier through and through.
