How many days am I authorized to clear for ETS?

10 days to clear is all that’s really needed

I actually depends on what the Post says, since CCF, housing, etc., fall under the Garrison Commander. I've seen chapters do it in 5-7 days. Then I've seen some milk it for all their worth and take dang near a month.

There must be a unit policy, if what they are saying matches that policy then you will have to deal with it. Once in a trainjng environment, especially on another installation it requires too many resources and or money to send one soldier back to the base.

This is truly something that should have been reviewed prior to deployment.

You pretty much answered your own question. Apparently your chain of command thinks you should have enough time. Or they wouldn’t have suggested taking less leave. Generally I think it’s 7 to 10 days.

I’m not on the same post as you. But I’m my last two duty stations I cleared BN and post in two days. I think a week is enough. You have to stay on top of what you need to do. CIF is a big task-if you miss any gears and need a statement of charges or a FLIPL, it may take longer, but shouldn’t be more than a week. Other tasks are relatively easy. If you are getting out, they usually wouldn’t give you a hard time. Good luck!

For single Soldiers at Hood, it was 10 business days across the board. Married Soldiers got a few more because of clearing housing and moving household goods. I personally wouldn't sell back your leave days. But again, you have to find what Hood Policy is and down to Battalion. Because of said Policy of being 7, 10 or even 14 days....then that is "LAW" signed by higher command. Also there is a Policy for how many ETS days leave you'll be allowed to take as well. I suggest that you start finding out the policy letters say. Your company has a note book with policy letters. NTC deployment, for me, I wouldn't take you as you will have a bunch of things to do before you get out.

One thing is a ETS physical. If you have certain injuries and such in your medical records, you'll need time to start the process for VA service connected injuries. Some of the things you can clear all in one day. Others will need a few days. I don't know if CIF is still ran by the Korean Mofia, but those ladies were rough. A 1LT came in to clear. He had bough all new items at C&S, and they kicked back some of his things.

If they do take you to NTC, I would only bring the TA-50 that you would absolutely need. It'll be warm during the day and pretty cold at night. As soon as you get back, you need to be really proactive and use your time wisely. No fkin about. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Selling back your leave could be a bad idea, you are giving up benefits to early.
