Those are two unrelated path and goals. You do not need to go from LVN to RN then to PA school. You can go to the Army’s PA school with whatever minimum requirements are listed. If your goal is to be a PA don’t waste your time and the Army’s money by getting your BSN.

If your goal is PA, don’t bother with getting an RN degree; apply for the Interservice PA program directly. If your goal is to diagnose and treat patients, you could go the RN route then continue on to become a nurse practitioner. Depending on your post-military plans, nurse practitioners tend to have more opportunities for independent practice as they can be licensed and do not have to be under supervision of a physician. Of course do not discount the idea of attending medical school. The Uniformed Services University in particular looks favorably on prior service.

if your goal is PA don't do RN and apply for IPAP Which is competitive. However to answer the question work on all prereqs then either apply for Green to gold or AECP. For that do all the course requirements for BSN get accepted into the RN program Apply for the AECP. Excelsior college do yoru ADN didactic through them and then do there clinicals. Then take your NCLEX. Pass the NCLEX and do your BSN online or at a college. http://www.excelsior.edu/ Last option go to a community college get your ADN then get your BSN at a university or online and apply for a commission.

Not sure how it works nw but back then the Army had a program for those with the requirements (whatever they were) to go to PA school on the Army’s dime.

There are several ways to get to be a PA. But the best is what the others have suggested, apply to the IPAP program & still get an active duty paycheck while in school: https://www.unmc.edu/alliedhealth/education/pa/ipap.html

I want to tell you of a sad event my buddy experienced. He arrived to an aviation unit at Ft Campbell and put in his PA packet endorsed by the commander and the regimental commander's letter. We had a Regimental run with the Regimental shirts. My buddy had just a black shirt. The Regimental commander saw the plain shirt and chunked his packet.
