as well as wanting to know for GP what everyone thought about it, it's also entertaining to highlight and showcase great characteristics and personalities the Marine Corps has produced. like this guy, gotta love him, lol.

Once a Marine, Always a Marine. I am still a Marine, just on inactive status. If I was needed, I would be ready to roll, just not as fast. I know veterans of our sister services, that also feel this way.

"A Marine is a Marine. I set that policy two weeks ago - there's no such thing as a former Marine. You're a Marine, just in a different uniform and you're in a different phase of your life. But you'll always be a Marine because you went to Parris Island, San Diego or the hills of Quantico. There's no such thing as a former Marine."
General James F. Amos, 34th Marine Corps Commandant

How many Marines and/or other branches feel this way? No matter what your status is, how many of you share this fact and sentiment?

I always tell people I'm a proud airman. I served and I'm not ashamed to say so.

I found in the AF that people came from all walks of life. All of us different, but we had a common thread and that was enough. We didn't size each other up. Everyone was a bother. I think the extent and depth of this sentiment is different based on branch and career field but it true for all, all the same. It's how the military exists. It functions because it's a brotherhood.
