The last two are real links, and jokes aside, I do value the service from all military members regardless of MOS or service joined

Basic Combat Training will be demanding, but well worth it. During these ten weeks, you'll become physically and mentally stronger and you'll gain the necessary framework of an Army Soldier.

Col Joseph Lenertz - That's EXACTLY my favorite in recent times, Colonel. Of course, I am now 74 years old.

I think the AF calls it "Basic Suggestions" now, but is willing to change the name if you find it offensive. [humor]

Remember basic training is just that; basic. Also consider length of military specialty training. For example, some, if not all, Army (the branch I know) combat arms jobs are combined basic and advanced individual training (OSUT-One Station Unit Training).

It has been a few years since I struggled through Boot Camp for sixteen weeks in 1961. I have no idea how long is currently.

Damien Maxwell. SPC Diana D. provided great information about basic training. Below is some additional information about the branches of the military.

Checked the article out. It's pretty good for a wannabe recruit, though the information in it is not complete.

10 weeks for Army and it differs by branch. You also have to add AIT to that. AIT can run from 4 weeks to 25 weeks depending on MOS.

More you count days the longer it will feel. Also don't quit. It takes longer to chapter you out than you graduating
