This post is Bipartisan. I would just like to know the answers from the community. I have seen so much arguing and name calling on here. As military personnel, we came up in the and dealt with many opinions that we did not agree with. We managed to be friends with individuals of which opinions we did not agree with. Some for decades. Now, we have people who can't stand each other because of the divisiveness within our politics. We are the same people... What changed?

I have not lost any friends that I am aware of due to the current political climate. I listen to people and learn pretty well what topics I can discuss with what people, whether it be religion, politics, or anything else.

In my experience, I can have a civil conversation with my friends (even my casual acquaintances) without things getting heated or destroying our friendship. I like to think that anyone that would defriend me over a personal belief has been weeded out of my life long ago. I like to listen to differing viewpoints in order to learn and grow as a person; either I will change my mind about a topic or the conversation will reaffirm what I already believe.

It's usually friends of friends (someone that doesn't know me) that chime in if I comment something they disagree with on a friend's page. I guess they assume that if you make a statement one way or the other, you are either a full-blown "right-wing Trumpster" or a "left-wing Libtard."

I learned a long time ago to just ‘agree to disagree’...there are certain topics I Do Not discuss with my older sister or younger brother.
I was under the impression RP was a neutral site where one was encouraged to voice their opinion and respect the opinions of others.

Recently, it seems to be ‘my way or the highway’...just my two cents
