I like service tattoos. Shows pride in the service and pride in our country. I plan on getting my dolphins tattoo'd most likely on my left shoulder.

Got my first one, a very simple U.S. Army done while in AIT at Ft Sam. Others followed to build on that one. The last one though ended up being a mistake as the tattoo artist, myself and my wife had a group dyslexia attack and failed to notice the dates were wrong. My wife first noticed the error a week or so later.

Oh man, that would have to sucked! Is there anyway that it can be corrected or did you have to leave it as is and just live with the mistake?

It can probably be corrected but why bother, besides, it is something that both my wife and I laugh at from time to time.

I have 9, and I think tattoo's are an important part of military cultures, although now days since becoming a Veteran I've noticed that the subculture of tattooing is now more mainstream vs when it was typically an exclusive groups of people. Within the military, I think anything fine as far a sleeves and ect just so long as they can be covered up with the appropriate uniform

I have a few, there are is a civi job that I would love to work at, but because i have 1 tattoo on my inner forearm, if I worked there I would have to wear a bandage or longsleev to cover at work. NO THANK YOU... why would I have to do so as a local truck driver ? they can keep their job

I have a couple and got a couple more after I got out. It's solely up to the individual. But I do think the only place tats should not be allowed is on the neck & above

I have 4 but I agree with SSGT Walters, they have to be concealable and only exhibit them when appropriate.

I never got a USCG tattoo, but a friend mine did. Not long after he started to hate the Coast Guard, yes I was amused!
