From time to time Veterans run into hard times and sometimes that means, sleeping in a garage. At the VA! Been there, done that! What are you experiences? Have you had to do that? For how long?

I remember sleeping in an airport? Woke up with a line across my face from the seam on my dufflebag pressed into my face and neck wet from drool?

SSgt (Join to see), I've slept in many unusual places, but not a VA garage!

Lots of veterans are doing this right now. The good people at the VA understand it and feel safer them being there than in some worse place. If you can get over the horns honking and the uncool cops (VA-kind) you are okay. It may be hot or cold but it is better than living in a parking lot at Walmart.

Can't say that I have ever slept in a garage at the VA. I can say that I have slept in a few car washes, and even spent a week travelling and sleeping under bridges.
