How many of you worked as an overseas contractor after ending your military career and is the pay still good?

I did... and not anymore.. Money is good... but now there are people lined up down the street to go, so the price tag has gone down year to year as well. Companies can bid less due to reduced labor costs.

Yes. Over the last few years (in my experience and with my company) the contracting experience has went downhill for us. The company, once Veteran owned is now owned by an umbrella corperation that only caters to its shareholders. They take, take, take from the employee while constantly placing more rules, responsibility, politically correct crap on you while constantly reminding you how expendable you are. Where I am located, the way you look and are dressed is more important than whether you would take a bullet for your protectee. We also pay foreign federal taxes in addition to US fed. I'm just being straightforward. Now, not every company is like this and not every company has this shady foreign tax deal with the host country. I'm only speaking from my experience. On the bright side, yes, you still make more money than you would at home, yes its easier to save and pay off debts being here. The big hope here is that Pres. Trump will utilize our contracting resources in addition to our military counterparts when shit starts hitting the fan in certain regions. This will revitalize how DoS, DoD and the individual companies looks at and treats their armed contractors.
