Spellcheck
Unfortunately I'm terrible at spelling and I want to make sure when I respond or make comments on RP that I present them in the best possible fashion.

I'm just curious on how many RP members out there take the same time and effort to make sure they have a quality post and how many just could care less?

I like to use it for words that are "tricky". Usually I can look at a word & tell it is off.

Sometimes I look at posts & wonder if their spell check has bounced for insufficient funds :P

I pride myself on my spelling and grammar usage. These are cornerstones of written communications. I always look over any post, often editing for clarity.

I am always cottecting my spelling and grammar in all aspects of my life. Even while texting, I hate receiving messages with the wrong there, their, they're, to, too, two, etc. I guess I have my mom to thank for that pet peeve.

Honestly that's the only reason I pointed it out, found it a little amusing myself.

Most modern browsers have it built it. The red squiggly line automagically shows up telling you how bad you suck at spelling.

Unfortunately, I get a little help from IMac and Safari, but most of the time I just copy and paste my text into Microsoft Word and then read it again to make sure I using the right words and proper grammar.

For the most part misspelled words don't bother me. My grammar gives me more pause than they do. It's a leftover from parents that think regional vernacular is a cardinal sin. Spelled write or not I tend to get my point across clearly.

True story time....again.

I blasted a guy on here for his spelling and grammar a couple months ago. His post was bad. He responded with just as bad spelling and grammar to me. I blasted him again. At some point, it became obvious that it was not from being lazy, but he was unable to do any better. He was trying to share his thoughts with his brothers and sisters and he was doing the best he could. I alienated him and I was so wrong. I felt like a heel. I apologized to him, but I have not seen anything from him since then.

What I am saying is don't dismiss or judge just because of some silly things like spelling and grammar or you may miss out on the views of some people that share the same bond that brings us all on here in the first place.

I always try to look past such errors and see the thought that the person is trying to express. Nobody loves a "grammar Nazi", but sometimes the writing is so bad it is not only putting that thought in a bad light, but fails to express the thought itself.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs I'm generally ok on the spelling but I get in a hurry and I don't do the punctuation I should. It's not for a lack of knowing.

Many times my fingers have traveled faster than I'm thinking and visa versa. I have communicated thoughts in my head and I have left key words out in the typing! Hopefully this topic and discussion I started will get everyone to slow down a little and proof read what they are saying and sending - we'll see!
