I am looking at the 37F MOS. I am going to be in college as well. I was wondering how much this MOS will interfere with my college studies. I am also going to be in ROTC so I was also worried about it interfering with that as well?

Mari Howard if you happen to get in a unit ready to deploy you might have to delay finishing college by only a year or so. By enlisting in the Reserve now you get the clock started toward pay and retirement. The weekend Drill pay will certainly come in handy. For two years freshmen and sophomore year you could be mobilized with your unit of assignment. By the time you contract as a Cadet Junior year you can get into the SMP(Simultaneous Membership Program) start getting E-5 pay for weekend drill until you commission. Depending on your school/ ROTC requirements you may or may not have to do the two week AT period. If time allows you certainly might. Now if you get a four or three year ROTC Scholarship it’s slightly different. Be sure to talk to the ROTC department at the school your thinking of going to along with your recruiter before you sign anything.

When you start ROTC, your MOS will be 09R, and at that point you will not be deployable.until you complete BOLC.
