I was looking at 88M as an MOS option (active duty). I’ve heard Poland or Bulgaria as a few possibilities. Anywhere else?

Any where motor vehicles are driven, you can be deployed with any unit that has trucks, ie CAVALRY / ADA or a corps support battalion.

Where there are vehicles, there are transportation units. Where there are transportation units, there are 88Ms. They are everywhere. They get deployed to where ever the mission is needed/designated.

Look at a map of the world and think of a conflict that might erupt where Army might be called to or where there might be a humanitarian or peacekeeping force sent. Those are all areas where an 88M can and will deploy to. I have yet to run across a unit that did not have 88M's in it although I am sure there are some. Army has to get the gear in the rear and the support to the front line... that is done by trucks. Water, oil, gas, munitions, food, mail, repair... all trucked in by 88M.

How often will an 88M be deployed, and to where are they usually deployed?

Early 2004 more 88M were being wounded in Iraq than 11B.

Unit I was with in afg was so lucky. No deaths. And lot of road time. Still get weird in the head sometime when driving

Look, just about every BN in the Army has 1 or more 88M in the motor pool. It will all depend on what unit you are assigned to.

88M is an MOS that is all over the Army. Stay away from the Outhouse lawyers and think of that. Most Mechanized units have them to one degree or another, trans units have them, and I am betting there are a lot of other units as well.

Any unit that owns HMMWVs, LMTVs/FMTVs, or any motor vehicle will require 88M Soldiers. That's pretty much all of them. As for deployments: wherever the unit is tasked to go.

88M have a duel role on the battle field, first they are Transportation Specialist and second they can be trained for Gun Trucks. The Convoy comes first and "Nothing Moves until Something Rolls". It is a very versatile MOS and you can not get enough training; just be good at what you do.
