I was doing field rotation that had open showers and had a thought about Transgender personell and how the be treated by other personell. I talked to a female an she said she upset if transwomen in her shower if they still had there male genitals. I asked a male the same thing and he said he wouldn't care. He said "If they identify as a man I will treat them like a man". How would you personally feel about this.

ADMIN NOTE: Be respectful to other RP members who may be in the transgender community.

With the latest order of the Secretary of War, has this question become mute?

Transgender Soldiers won’t be a problem. There won’t be any.

Now you are bringing social test tube issues into the military. There are a couple of ways this can be treated. Basically a man or woman is exactly that. They can identify however they like. If they joined the military as a man or woman then they are treated as such until they have completed the transition to become what they identify as. If they don't like it, that is just this side of tough.

The second way is simple as well. You go into a shower etc to shower.. why are you bothering to look at what another person has or doesn't have under their clothing? Focus on the task which is you taking care of YOUR hygiene. Until such time as an issue ie harassment in the shower etc... it's not an issue.

The third is to treat it much like co-ed showering and either assign times or other such measures to segregate the "sexes" and again this will depend on if there is an actual problem.

Personally and professionally my job, my duty does not involve what a person has or doesn't have when they are showering. Why are you eyeballing someone else when you should be in there getting clean and getting out. I'll adapt what a Senior Drill told us a few hundred times. "If you can taste it you are taking too long." -> "If you have time to look around, you are taking too long." Get in, shower, rinse off, get out, Simple and as complex as that. If its anything more... the problem is you and not the person you are looking at.

I am about to reenlist for the first time, and I frequently have conversations with civilians and family members who are curious how the military handles this issue. I always respond: a democratic nation’s military must be a representation of the nation’s society. No class or demographic should be excluded, and by allowing all to serve it helps military members better understand the citizens they protect. Even if they don’t make the cut for combat arms or deployment, their presence in the ranks and service in whatever capacity they are able adds value to the force by representing citizens like them.

I wrestle with the question. I believe every American should have the opportunity to serve, if qualified.

If they qualify should be the key. Every American is not qualified if they have social issues they should not qualify.

What disqualifying social issue are you referring to? Incarceration?

SGT Wes King - There are exactly zero social issues that could or should DQ a person. Are you a US citizen? Do you pass the background checks, drug checks, medical evaluations? Did you pass basic and your MOS qualification training... then carry on. The rest are social test tube bullshit issues... the likes of which the military has had since near its formation... which basically amounts to the twatwaffle idiot that raised the stink usually being the problem in the first place.

Let me first say This is a opinionated question remember that before you start down voting and calling names. They will make it work always have always will. How they do it? I or no one else know that answer. However if it was up to me the answer would be you use the bathroom/ shower the identifies
with your Birth Certificate unless you have a Full Transition completed. I DO NOT care what you identify as but only what your body parts say you are. 2nd your not in there for a sight seeing tour you are there for personal Hygiene get it done and move on. If that doesn't work for you get to buckets and find some bushes.

I imagine they'll transition the same way they did with racially integrated units, opening combat arms to women, opening Ranger School tp women, accepting openly gay soldiers serving. Pretty much a "There it is, that's how it is, now deal with it or hit the bricks". We should always return to the dictum that a soldier is a soldier is a soldier. Race don't matter, color don't matter, gender don't matter. You wear the uniform, you meet the standards, you're good to go. Don't meet the standards, or expect some kind of special treatment, then you're in the wrong line of work.

I saw really "FAT OBESE" soldiers in Nam that had heart attacks and got medals like "Purple Hearts", etc. Watch any WWW2 movie and watch the guy with the "Red Cross'" arm band and tell me he's straight?????? That medic is usually a NON-Combatant/Conscientious Objector, AKA = GAY. PROVE ME WRONG. I wish that these dual male/female soldiers would speak up here and show their awards in combat.

They don't belong in the military. I'm not talking about anything other than the fact that gender dysphoria is a mental illness. A mental illness I might add that leads many of them to suicidal ends and no, it isn't because they simply aren't accepted by others. Soldiers have enough to worry about without adding in forcing them to feed someone else's pipe-dream fantasy that they can become another gender by smearing on some make up, wearing a dress and changing their name from Bob to Roberta.

Almost half (48.3%) reported suicidal ideation, 23.8% had attempted suicide. This is not a statistic that should be being introduced into our fighting force simply because it would be a nice thing to do to meet woke, DEI requirements in a place that it shouldn't be a concern. War fighting is something that brings on its own set of psychological issues without already getting a head start on it before even getting to the starting line. I know many young men and women for that matter that would have loved to join the military but this sort of thing makes them rethink it and take other avenues instead of serving. Who in their right mind would want to go to war with someone from a demographic that lives their life in an ongoing fantasy that they demand others validate along with their potential suicidal or perhaps even homicidal tendencies? So the military will now make it mandatory for fellow service members to validate their fantasy and feed their mental illness? You will continue to miss recruitment quotas as well you should.

I've seen some advocates for this use the introduction of Black service members many decades ago as an example...False equivalency all together. The color of your skin is not a mental illness or a departure from reality in substitution of fantasy. Even homosexuals serving at least have a solid grasp of reality typically. It doesn't get more real than combat and the last thing you want is someone with a very tangible lack in their grasp of reality involved.

Just out of curiosity, can I come back in and identify as a commanding general and have the military bending over backwards to feed my fantasy? It has as much basis in reality as this load of bull. What's next? Are we going to allow someone who identifies as a horse to serve as a mount in the Old Guard perhaps? Maybe some soldiers on all fours and barking in the K-9 Corps? At what point does the line of ludicrous get drawn?

At some point, reality and pragmatism has to prevail or our military is doomed in infrastructure, recruiting and especially on the battlefield. God help this country because it has lost its way. We are the laughing stock of the world thanks to this insanity.

The battle field is going to be in the streets and cities of America. "Project 2025" says that the 2nd American Revolution is coming soon. MAGA will rue the day it started wearing those "red caps". Hegshof told our Generals that they are going to be practicing war games in American cities. GUESS WHY??????

SP5 Delphis Kaczowski -
"Project 25"!? You know that's been debunked quite a while ago. So are you really serious with this piece of fake propaganda?

Because Leftist activists trying to destroy the foundations of our constitution and nation as a whole, not wanting closed borders, attacking our police, ICE and border patrol, thinks every mental disorder has a place in every organization when they don't. My guess would be that nut-ball crowd won't settle the fuck down and is looking to stir up shit like you are threatening here and will need to get their teeth kicked in effectively. They keep calling for civil war, they're going to find out how quickly that will change when they get it. They've got it romanticized but I've seen it in person. OR, now hear me out, it might be because recent history of our wars had our troops fighting in urban environments that our MOUT training cites don't replicate very well.

I don't think MAGA is going to rue anything. We won the election and the Left is throwing (surprise, surprise) yet another temper tantrum because they aren't getting their way. We are tired of dealing with their childish outbursts so let them try their bull shit. They might find the environment somewhat different at this point.

Other than the "TET" offensive in Nam all I saw was a few hamlets and jungles and rice paddies(?) near Nah Trang 8th Field Hospital (Tent City). Soldiers should always remember that they took an oath to defend the US Constitution and NOT the wanna be Dictator President in the White House today. Frank Trump's family came from Deutschland (Germany today) and they still have that autocratic mind set that Caucasians are the superior race. Incidentally, Donald put his own father in a mental institution with Alzheimer's/Dementia. He also cheated his own sister out of her inheritance. I will NEVER support a draft dodger or any of his sons for public office. When our Combat troops are killing US unarmed citizens in American cities you'll be sick. Remember the Mai Lai, SVN massacre of unarmed old men, pregnant women & children 5-8 years old by American soldiers. It can happen here in this country.

You want to make it equal... make the barracks co-ed. That way they could ID as a lampshade and then it wouldn't make any difference.
