How will you honor the men and women of law enforcement this week? Stop speeding? Stop waving with 1 finger? Or saying and meaning Thank You?

I've commented many times about various law enforcement issues in numerous posts on Rally Point. This week belongs to them, for the incredible job they perform every day, every night, in an effort to keep us all safe and secure. I am and will ever be grateful for the thankless job service they have committed themselves to performing.

I lived in Brentwood, TN for many years, SCPO (Join to see) and the now retired Chief of Police Ricky Watson was a friend of mine. He said he always counseled his officers to start easy and get tough only when necessary. Further, he said if you started off tough, it was almost impossible to walk that back down to easy. Ultimately, he said he wanted the residents of Brentwood to wave at his officers with all five fingers!
Needless to say, I always had tremendous respect for that police force, they did a great job (and still do), and they were always there when needed.

Exactly ... Similar to what I used to always tell MPs... Always try to be the "good guy" when dealing with people. Do not be an a**hole first, however, if the individual they are dealing with becomes an **hole, at that time, they are authorized to out-a**hole them.

Give emergency vehicles and cops space, in the car and on foot, don't drive into the blue lights 'fixation', it is a national thing to move over, hope that helps.
