While the Navy gives you a CCC upon arrival at your first duty station, being an NSW candidate I will not receive my terminal NEC or get to my "first" duty station for quite some time. I have a degree and have expressed interest time and time again, but cannot for the life of me receive any straight forward answers about the matter.

Doc - have you tried talking to an officer recruiter? I am sure this isn't the 1st time this has come up, and they should have the latest info and guidance. Best of luck.

I tried several months ago sir, granted this COVID pandemic has made things a little weird. I was in HCB almost the entirety of 2020 continuously getting recycled due to precautionary quarantining and NSW candidate class numbers, so I was being told I could not do anything in an IET setting. I just arrived to my follow on pipeline at NAS Pensacola, so I've been away from any communication in person or able to get information from personnel being quarantined for the fourth time. I hope to reach out when I start this next set of classes; my only fear is giving off an ungrateful impression or "grass is always greener" mindset. I was in Army ROTC for four years, had orders to commission, and was even a distinguished military graduate, but was discharged to situational anxiety three weeks prior; obviously that has been fixed and amended, so commissioning has been on my mind for nearly a decade. I have nothing against being enlisted, its always better to start from the ground and work my way up and be able to lead by transformational means rather than transactional, my only fear is giving off the impression that I don't want to be here and am looking for the next best.

Any advice on that aspect sir?

HN (Join to see) - I was enlisted before getting commissioning, too (BM). I wouldn't worry too much about people's attitudes. You have to follow your own path and what works for you. Some are going to hate, and generally it is because they are jealous. I will say that since NSW is a relatively small tight community, don't burn any bridges, though. Keep everything as friendly as possible and explain that a commission has always been your life's goal, and leave it at that. Your performance is what will really matter.

As to your package, since you are at Pensacola, can you get in to see the base Career Counselor? Tell them what you are trying to do, and maybe they can get the ball rolling for you.

I was offered to go to OCS 1966 if I deferred my enlistment by 6 months. I scored 111 on my GT test. 25 on my language skills. I did not graduate from high school. Thousand Oaks California. I never wanted to be a murderer of kids like Caley and Medina. Just following Orders sir. (BS). Calfornia should fall off the map. Just like Hunter Biden and sleeping joe and Harris. I will never come back to the USA. Clooney should leave. Bruce Springsteen as well. Bob Hope is turning in grave. JFK should too. He got Marylyn Monroe Killed.
