It’s never gonna happen.

I love an optimist, but hope is not a combat multiplier! My beef is that the Congress is discussing fast-tracking a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure bill while Social Security and Medicare funding has been neglected for a couple of generations. If either program defaults, it will create a MASSIVE social upheaval in America that will make the COVID pandemic pale in comparison. CWO4 Michael Doyle's comment above nails it.

that would not be good .. that would hurt my feelings, my $finances$ account, and would set my P.T.S.D. to no end in sight as such, but I would settle down after a while .. though I am thankful for that, and my V.A. disability, I would find a way to make ends meet to a certain point .. I am almost 64 now.

It would hurt but not cripple. Good question though. That would have to mean Medicare would go under, and with it the Health Care Industry

The insolvency projections for Medicare are even worse.
