Glen,
I'd advise you to be cautious before you make that leap. I'd ask what is needed in the ultra competitive corporate world and assess if you are better off making that transition now or after using Army programs to their fullest to get ready. If you're sure you've done all that and have a solid short term, midterm, and long term plan, then go for it. But, if you don't currently have a job offer equivalent to what you make now and aren't prepared for not having a job for up to 6 months, tread softly.

Thank you for your thoughts. I agree with you that a short term and long term plan are necessities. Trying to locate a firm needing physical security assessments and safety consultants.

Are you a member of ASIS? Do you have your CPP or CSP certification? I'm assuming you have physical security school but current jobs want some ASIS affiliation. Do some research.

Do a job search on indeed.com and monster.com and see what's trending and what certifications are required before you take the leap.
