Just out of curiosity, how would you handle the downsizing/budgeting problems our military is having? Would you continue to cut members or rid of unnecessary programs? Furthermore, how would you go about fixing the problem as a whole?

As the military enters a significant downsizing period, it's important to talk through relevant issues and solutions. &nbsp;Enter your response below, and if it gets the most Up votes, you win a free iPad Mini and we will personally deliver your thoughts to our Advisory Board, which includes retired Generals George Casey and Norton Schwartz, the recent Chiefs of Staff of the Army and Air Force, respectively.<div><br></div><div>Tip: Get all your friends to vote Up your response by the end of the contest on Oct 7, 2013.</div>

Aside from the obvious of a thurough review of the budgeting and all allocations/projects/ etc. I would most likely downsize and cut similar to what we are doing now. There are more than enough Soldiers/Officers who (and I have heard them say this) are hanging around until something better comes up. If you are hanging around, or you have broken your core values, or you have are unable to meet the standards you signed up for, then it is your time to go. I have a lot of pride in my career choice. I have struggled in the past with weight (prior to being in the army) and I have done things in the past that at the time seemed fine but later realized were bad decisions. This doesnt mean you are a bad person, but it does mean that this career might not be the one for you, at least anymore.
