How would you react to an E2 who "smart mouths" you in formation?

Here's the background. You're a senior E5. Your troops are in formation and you're handing out work for the day. You hand out an assignment to a fresh E2 with less than a year in and only a few months at your command. They blatantly complain and tell you to choose someone else. You calmly tell them they will do this task and they tell you to shove it and give it to someone else. How do you react?

Drop his ass to the front leaning, and have him pump it out until I dismiss the formation. Then give him one more chance to FOLLOW ORDERS. If he or she does not comply, article 15 the fucker.

This is a military wide problem new privates coming from basic acting like they deployed twice and lack of military disapline no parade rest no yes sir no sir no Sgt yes Sgt just a "yeah" "OK" long ass hair ect and if trained as an old school NCO you get on to them about it you get told to be nicer about it, hell no that shit don't fly I am not asking him shit! They have to fear you or they will continue to be more insubordinate and when the time comes they'll get themselves killed maybe even someone else killed, your word as a leader is ment to be law as if from the good book itself a precursor to when life and death come to pass and their knowing there are reasons why you are told to do and they are to do, they just have to have that they hesitate now they will hesitate in battle when given an order.

First I'll explain how the military works Give him or her a chance to explain their point of view and behavior. If they have a valid point I will said u are correct and teach them the proper way to act and respond. Explaining how the military works is not a discussion, that is part of initial training into the military - boot camp. If the drill instructor hasn't hammered that in, there is no hope for that individual. And there is no 'point of view' that would warrant a refusal of order. Point of view is simply which direction your head is turned! The last sentence, correct.
