How would you react to an E2 who "smart mouths" you in formation?

Here's the background. You're a senior E5. Your troops are in formation and you're handing out work for the day. You hand out an assignment to a fresh E2 with less than a year in and only a few months at your command. They blatantly complain and tell you to choose someone else. You calmly tell them they will do this task and they tell you to shove it and give it to someone else. How do you react?

Smoke the shit out of that private right there in formation and extra duty after they complete that work assignment

If you want to continue serving then you will follow all lawful orders given to you by your leadership. If you do not want to wear a uniform anymore then that fine too. I will happily begin the separation papers, and until it's been pushed up and completed you will follow all lawful orders given to you by your leadership.

Seriously though, I would let the 1SGT deal with it, away from others. I'm sure he'd straighten him out. Wait... are we talking combat arms unit or everything else?
