Here's the background. You're a senior E5. Your troops are in formation and you're handing out work for the day. You hand out an assignment to a fresh E2 with less than a year in and only a few months at your command. They blatantly complain and tell you to choose someone else. You calmly tell them they will do this task and they tell you to shove it and give it to someone else. How do you react?

Negative counseling statement. If it continues to be an issue then I've got no problem pursuing charges for being a malingerer.

It's simple really this might be a problem in other branches. But definitely not the marine corps even more so in the 03 field the only thing coming out of a boot as pfcs mouth is no Sgt, yes Sgt, I sgt. And even if he talk back every sernior lace would have him on blast and him and his buddy's would be playing fuck fuck games until the morning sun.

Make the biggest most outspoken soldier do it and all his other duties for the rest of the day and let him go hang out in the barracks.

Detain the undisciplined while the unit falls out. Question his action to find out what may me wrong. Reassuring him or here its a unit not high school. Then reassure them if there is a problem it will get attention, however, punishment will follow for the action. They need to learn respect, honor, and commitment to duty. I have seen this go from conversation to whoop ass. I find the middle road. Usually it has the real problem surface.

I have to agree with GySgt Pepper. Discipline is best left to the individual's chain of command; from pltsgt to sqdldr to teamldr. Everyone else is dismissed to begin the day's assignments. I have witnessed far too many cases of public humiliation in my twelve yrs of service. The private will learn more respect for his command if the discipline is kept quiet and discreet.

Allow him to take his complaint to the First Sergeant and see how far he gets!

Id recycle his ass. Just like that did in airborne school. You fuck up once you get recycled to do it all over again. I think that's the most valuable punishment you can do make them listen. Is take all their fucking time up in the world. Show them what the life is all about. Its respect. Its adapting and over coming. Its doing 7 robin sages when ever the command picks your number you take it to the chin and do the tasking soldier. This is what you swore an oath to. if you don't like it. Enjoy your dishonorable discharge!!
