Hooah is meant as a morale cry but HUA is a well used acronym. So in essence there are 2, I've used both in my 9 year career and still use Hooah as an acknowledgement.

I use HOOAH and Air Assault on a daily basis and after 31 years. Civilians LOVE the word and every service has one, just ask them HOOAH!

I was Marine Corps trained, we said Oohrah. No idea what it meant. Thought everything else sounded pretty weak.
