I was a 12B, SPC, Combat Engineer at Dexheim, Germany. My Cpt took me to interview/test for EOD. 3 Weeks later I was at EOD School. All assignments after that were choice until I retired.

SUGGESTION: And Nothing More: And I Tell This To Everyone Who's Not Sure What To Do, Or Where They're Going.. Because Studying This Can Be An Asset, NO MATTER What Field You're In.
"Business Management & Administration"...... I Mean Important "EVERYWHERE"....From Managing The Highest Of Office Positions, To Running Your Home & Personal Life Properly....
.It's A REQUIREMENT, No Matter Where You're Going, Or Where You've Been.
I'm An 8th GRADE DROP OUT ~ Self-Educated Through U.S.A.F.I. ~~ Studied Every Business Course Available During My 4 Year Enlistment; Then Mid Level Management At F.M.C. ~ Business Ownership For 27 Years, ~ Retired At 56.~..... Now It's Your Choice.~ Decide Wisely, It's Your Future.~ So, Don't Fk-It Up!

There are always classes to go to. Some are local "unofficial" (like Ft Bragg's old "Recondo" class) and others are more well defined across bases and commands.
You list as a Specialist E-4. #1 choice - go to a Basic Leadership Course. It should open you to at least a lateral to Cpl. On the high end of the spectrum, talk to the Special Operations recruiter on your base. See what they have and what you might qualify for. On the lower end, look at what internal training your base is offering. Every unit has to be proficient in CBRN (in my day NBC). I once got to take a class in NBC that went way beyond basic training. I learned how to use chem/bio sensors. I learned how to plot radioactivity patterns. I got a dual assignment as asst NBC NCO for our unit in 2ID. Ask about range safety officer roles. Think outside the box. 1983 - SSG Bryant, my Basic Training Sergeant (one of them) stated it this way... "Welcome to the Army. You will never stop training. Every day has a lesson for anyone who wants to learn from it." Take the initiative and you will find promotion points for the taking.

According to your Armor (Career Management Field 19) Career Progression Plan, "Soldiers with GT scores below 100 should seek to improve their scores through the Functional Academic Skills Test, commonly referred to as FAST." If your GT is below 100, I recommend you go to your Education Center to sign up for the FAST course. If it is above 100, please note the following from your CPP, "Completion of 15 college semester hours is recommended for promotion consideration to SGT." This might sound as high speed as Airborne, Ranger, or SAPPER, but imagine having one of these schools and being passed up for SGT because you did not have the necessary college or the necessary GT score to be able to enroll in Master Gunnery School, but the person that beat you did have these.
I recommend you go to https://www.benning.army.mil/armor/ocoa/content/References%20and%20Guides/CMF%2019%20Armor.pdf?08OCT2020 and read your CPP. Also, talk this over with your NCO Support Channel. Your Sergeants should be able to give you sound advise.

Not Being Familiar With How The Military Does Things Now;
I Served From 1961 - 1965, (So I Realize Many Things Have Changed)
But If You're Being Given A Choice Of Different Career,
I'd Highly Suggest Programs In Business And Business Management.
Here's Why: No Matter Where You Go, Or What Career You'll Eventually Get Involved With, Be It Military Or Civilian; Business Can Always Be Used..
It'll Be Much Easier To Become Employed And You'll Have A Better Choice Of Occupations.
It's A Total "WIN~WIN" Situation.
