I am currently looking at requesting Army recruiter for my next assignment. What does the daily life looks like for recruiters now?

Don't do it. Go be range cadre. Recruiting broke me. I'm now out of the Army. Because of it.

I got out after 14 years in the Army... best move I made. I went into the Guard and found a civil service job making twice what I did in the military.

I served as a 79R in USAREC for 13 of my 20 years. Understand what you are getting into before doing anything. If married make sure she understands because won't have much if any family time. No matter how successful you may have been before recruiting once you sign on None of that matters anymore. Don't believe anything that is promised like promotions, locations, time off or anything else related because it probably won't happen. Just be ready!!

I have nothing to offer here, but in reading the responses from experienced recruiters I believe I'd proceed with caution. I didn't read one response doing cartwheels.

I am about to finish my tour and you need to think long and hard about what you are about to do. I highly recommend you go drill sergeant. Recruiting is a beast of its own, long hours, terrible leadership and no career opportunities especially in the Midwest. If you do decide to do this you better pray you get the south and that probably will not happen unless you are bilingual.

Nice try.. but USAREC has priority of fire.. you volunteer for Drill Sergeant school and have a GT over 110 guess who sees your packet first? I tried that path and came back from Graf to a "Welcome to USAREC" letter waiting for me.. I had already been to my PCS brief prior to Graf.. going to Knox for DI school..

The south doesn't mean anything... In fact I think it can be worse. I just finished up my 3 year tour in Georgia 2 weeks ago. Yes it can be plentiful due to being in the south but at the same time the more USAREC gets the more they want. Currently you can't put in any bravos (below 50 and ged) except 1-2 per station a month. The south puts in large numbers but not alphas usually.

It was a long 3 years. It also depends on where you are stationed when recruiting.

Start having Pokemon Go toons appear in recruiting offices. Have them sign paperwork to catch toon. Make mission the first 3 days, take rest of month off. Easy money.

I've been in USAREC for three weeks, already have two contracts and two more flooring next week and I'm already under preforming. Our station is only on board for 3 active and 1 reserves a month, there is your answer for how cutthroat this is.

I have noticed that they are working mobile more now. Threat condition is keeping offices closed. Fewer DEP meetings.
If you take the assignment, Please be willing to teach them something. Many DEP meetings are Weigh ins only. I've seen it in all branches. But I have been disappointed most by my Army offices. Show them how to succeed. Soldier Care starts at your office door.

I recruited in the infancy years of OEF/OIF and it was hell. I have a family member who is a SSG looking to volunteer as well. He tells me they only work 50 a week and every other Saturday. I don't believe that but who really knows.

I spent over 4 years as a detailed recruiter. I was involuntarily extended twice. I would rather be hung, disemboweled, and set fire to rather than EVER recruit again. It is where bad leaders go to bide their time until they get out, there is a total lack of integrity.

I don't believe this is where bad leaders go to hide. Every situation is what you make of it. What you put in it is what you get out of it. You don't like your leader just like the big Army then strive to be the leader. I spent 12 years in USAREC did I love it everyday of course not. I took the same advice I just gave you and became the leader for others to follow. Be prepared make sure your family is prepared. Always have thick skin and don't take things personally and you will be ok.
