I am enrolled at Western Governors University Texas in BS IT Security. http://texas.wgu.edu/online_it_degrees/information_technology_degree_security
I have completed my A+, N+, Security+, Project+, Linux+/LPIC-1 and now working on my CCENT. I have CCNA and CCNA Security to follow. Certification exams are mandatory as they are your final exam for related classes. I need to find work, ideas?

Go to USA Jobs and look for civil service work. There are a lot of very good cyber positions for hire in SA and the D.C. Area.

I have thought of that. Hopefully a Federal resume is not needed. However I fear it is required. I have worked a temporary Census job in the past. The experience with handling personal data and the security protocols involved were greatly valued. I still have a business card from them. Wish I had kept more though...

PO2 Michael Henry - It's not, however experience is always looked at. I assume you qualify for veterans preference but do you have a degree? This is usually a huge help in getting those jobs.

I have an AS in Electronics Engineering Technology (Navy Training on paper), AAS in Network Administration w/high honors 3.71 GPA (3.975 on my major), 1 year from finishing my BSIT Security at WGU. I also qualify for disabled veterans preference. Those 10 points come in handy.

My company would snap you up! I am in CO Springs and there is no lack of work. You just need to put your resume out and go for it.

The Air Force has many IT positions open on a regular basis. Create an account in usajobs and be sure to select Federal Employees if you have Veterans status. Good luck

I can look into that once I clear my appointment with vocational rehab at the VA, that's on Tuesday morning.
