I am now station in Germany, and I was told that even with my wife and daughter, I will only be making base pay for my rank. Is this true?

If you Family is with you you will receive a housing allowance (or live in quarters) and COLA. If your Family remains in CONUS you will receive the housing allowance for where they reside. Thank you for your service.

No... You should also be receiving BAS, I believe that Germany also qualifies for COLA.
