I'll be honest from one sts to another the only thing I've found where the skills are of any use are Lockheed or similar defense companies. If you are skilled with computers and IT that's the way to go.

I'm in constant need of Sonar Technicians for ASW, they require AN-SQQ89 v15 experience though!

As an AE, Lucas Group really helped me find a job.

I am transitioning soon to civilian life & looking to connect with other STS(sonar techs) for advice on jobs & the paths they took. Help?

I have several friends that have left as sts and they have either stayed in civilian side of navy or have done a lot of security. The best place ive seen is the civilian side of government work. You could still work on the sonar thing

I got out of the navy in 2002 as a STS2(SS). I went to work in industrial electrical maintenance.
Have been with the same company ever since, moved up the ranks here, and am currently in an Automation role. Feel free to look me up on here if you would like to talk more.

ENS (Join to see) STG not STS, but when I tried to get a job related to the field after my discharge, I was told that as an operator, the only job I was qualified for was physical security.
