People always have some pretty colorful excuses for not joining the military. What are your favorite/ most absurd?

Hhmmm ... I assume that this is in response to a civilian asking why you joined the military?
I really can't stand when people feel the need to give me reasons as to why they never joined the military. I don't ever remember asking.
Tell it to your girlfriend, wife and kids. I don't care. The military isn't for everyone and that's ok. Some men are hunters and fishermen and other men are gatherers. Its all good browski. Relax and enjoy the freedom...

Perceptions, stigmas, objections or our wonderful ingrate civilian society. Luckily they don't run my life course (or I don't perceive they do, and that's all that matters, right?)
