I feel so proud when I hear " the Star Spangled Banner" I think of all those brave women, and men that sacrificed sooo much. What do you think of when you hear that AWSOME song?

Great thread, Danny. I am with you 100%. I also relate this pride in our Nation to what the POW's in Vietnam had to contend with. There were accounts of them making an illegal American Flag and hiding it from their captors. The red stripes were made by dyeing the cloth using the blood from the POW's themselves. It's time to watch the Hanoi Hilton again today....followed by Hart's War.

PO2 (Join to see) , CW5 (Join to see) I can assure both of you that you are not alone. Each time I hear the Star Spangled Banner I brace and salute. Each time, tears are brought to my eyes when I think of the men/women I have served with who no longer have the ability to render honors. In my minds eye I am saluting not only for myself, but also in their honor.

The Star Spangled Banner brings tears to my eyes and gives me goosebumps, especially when sung by a Service Member. A flood of memories comes back all at once.
