I just received my date for MLC. Has anyone else taken the DL version? Any good tips you can give me for this course?

I just graduated the DL version. Be prepared to spend 3-4 hours a day doing class work. Almost every class has required reading, I had to read it because I got nothing from the slide decks. The slide decks are minimalistic because even online they are pushing the experiential learning model. You will do 2 essays, 2 group projects, 2 power point presentations as part of those projects, and 3 short answer exams. Those are the big items, still have to do discussion board posts and stuff like that. Good luck.

Do you know if there is a specific writing format (MLA, APA) that has to be used on the papers? Also what is the length of the writing assignments and how difficult is the grading on them? Thanks

SFC (Join to see) writing is done in APA and must be 3-5 pages, double spaced. They give you a rubric for each writing assignment. Ask the instructor for the proper way to cite doctrine, I failed the entry paper because I followed the Purdue writing lab format and appearently it's wrong.

MSG (Join to see) - Thats funny, because one of the only places online that give advice link the Purdue website that shows the APA format. Since I have until October to get ready, is there anything that you could think of that I could read or work on before then that could help me in the course? Thanks MSG

SFC (Join to see) familiarize yourself with MDMP. You will be going over MDMP and JPP. Once the class starts all the doctrine will be in the Blackboard, but nothing stopping you from taking a look now. There are also a ton of CALL publications and the Staff Officers Guide to MDMP. Other than that, the class isnt rocket surgery.
