The Marines use the M240G. That's as of 2009. We prefer good solid arms over cool tech.

Actually my unit was issued the 240G in 1997. Got them right out of the packaging crate, not sure if it was service wide at the time, but it was issued to us mid summer 1997 in Okinawa (Camp Hansen) 1/5.

The M240G is easier to field strip and clean. The M60 was so old that parts were loose and jams were common in its last years.

Yes, the M240 and of course the M2 are both Crew Served and both tripod and vehicle mounted, as well as the M249.
